Flash, Boom, Swoosh!

Bob Segar once sang of this phenomenon although in an entirely different context.

I woke last night to the sound of thunder
How far off I sat and wondered
Started humming a song from 1962
Ain't it funny how the night moves
When you just don't seem to have as much to lose
Strange how the night moves
With autumn closing in

Last night, or more aptly early this morning, I awoke to the sound of thunder. How far off I need not wonder, for there was little time between the crackle and the boom. Then came the swoosh of heavy rain. Autumn truly is closing in.

Get Ready to Feel the Heat!

The National Weather service is sticking to their earlier projection for triple digit heat. As we approach the end of the week a new element has arisen. We may be treated or more aptly "subjected" to a southern style event with super hot conditions and humidity added in just for fun. NWS thinks that thunderstorms could be in the mix. It has been several years since I remember hot and muggy conditions. Get ready for a little Cajun weather my friends and always find a way to soak it up :)
